Using LPT to mod the Wii? A video

There’s a new video circulating around the intarwebs again, and apparently, it allows for playing Wii games without the need for an actual modchip. Over on YouTube, Textb00k writes about the mod he’s got on video:

A modified Nintendo Wii boots a backup of Red Steel. There is no modchip in the Wii, there is a parallel port cable soldered to the drive board. The cable costs under 3 dollars to make.

As you can see, he even manages to use a Wiimote to full effect, so he’s probably using more than one program to get everything up and running on a computer. He does mention some other items, such as a capture card and a bunch of programs, so be warned. This definitely needs some technical experience to test, as well as some guts. Still, we’ll leave it up to you to see if it works or not. Just be careful.
