VC vids: Mach Rider and Air “Zonk” gameplay

Shooting stuff always has amazing replay value. From barrels to bad space aliens, it’s fun to take things down and blow them up for big points. This week’s Virtual Console offerings are perfect in that regard and, thanks to GameTrailers, we have videos of two of this week’s VC games in action as they go shooting through anything that stands in their way.

The first video we’re going to show you is for Mach Rider for the NES. In this game, you’re tasked with clearing sectors of evil alien quadrunners while riding along in your futuristic motorcycle at breakneck speeds. You just have to be careful of the oil slicks and explosive barrels laying about on the road.

The second video we have is for Air “Zonk“, a side-scrolling shooter for the TurboGrafx 16 where you get to pilot a futuristic robot who looks like a baby with a humongous head and a laser gun. You’re out to stop the machinations of King Drool by taking down his mechanized minions till you eventually get to Drool himself.

In any case, you won’t see any final battles here, but you will get to see tons of shooting, slick maneuvers, and a power-up or two as well. Enjoy!

One more video after the jump!
