Vermeend and Eckart Join Game Entertainment Europe

Martial Heroes - A GEE MMO

Prof. Dr. Willem Vermeend and Eckart Wintzen has joined the advisory board of Game Entertainment Europe BV.

For those who don’t know, Game Entertainment Europe is responsible for several online community games that are available to gamers in Europe. In order to offer the best online experience, GEE localises the games for European countries, they provide game mastering, and community support, as well as in-game events. Recently GEE has signed up the MMO Martial Heroes which will be launched in Europe this September.

Now for a little background on the two people:

Martial Heroes CommunityProf. Dr. Willem Vermeend is a specialist in the social-economic, fiscal, and financial field. He was a member of the Dutch Parliament between 1994 and 2002. Currently he is also a Chairman and member of several public company supervisory boards such as Free Record Shop and Randstad. Besides the obviously square-ish, semi-nerdy credentials Vermeend is also a passionate gamer.

Eckart Wintzen has been an entrepreneur since the early seventies. Wintzen is fascinated by virtual communities and the web. He’s founded and financed the Expression College for Digital Arts in San Francisco, and has graduated over 500 students a year towards a Bachelor’s Degree.

It’s pretty comforting that for every video game pundit (you know him, no doubt) in this world, you have respectable people like Vermeend and Wintzen who are contributing to the gaming scene in constructive ways.
