Vicious Engine now part of the Wii toolset

Vicious Cycle Software Inc. has announced that their middleware solution, the Vicious Engine, has joined Nintendo‘s Wii Third Party Tools Program.

Other than the fact that it’s a solution that can be used across multiple platforms, Vicious Cycle is proud that their tool supposedly does not require a sizable full-time staff to maintain and develop due to its ease of use, and various features. They claim that their engine offers point-and-click scripting, Wii Remote and Nunchuck integration, intuitive AI development, straightforward platform conversion, and the ability to render dynamic scenery efficiently.

Eric Peterson, president of Vicious Cycle had this to say about their middleware solution:

As a Wii middleware solution, the Vicious Engine will provide developers with a practical approach to exploring the unique and creative possibilities of Wii. Our technology allows developers to focus on what makes Wii special-fun gameplay and innovative peripheral integration.

It will be interesting to see how many developers adopt the Vicious Engine as development solution, especially since a lot seem to prefer to use their own engines. Perhaps adoption from a major studio could give it a boost? Maybe if Dead Head Fred or 300: March to Glory performs well
