Vinnk attempts great Wii Fit “experiment”

The Wii Fit logo - Image 1Scientists usually carry out experiments in carefully-controlled environments to test out their hypotheses. Not so with an experimenter by the name of Vinnk, who is currently testing out the beneficial effects of “playing” Wii Fit in conjunction with a variety of different health practices. More not-so-scientific information follows after the jump.

The Wii Fit box - Image 1For some people, the sign of an expanding midriff may serve as a wake-up call to get more physical. Vinnk, a blogger for 4 color rebellion, saw the signs and decided to go a step further: by using Wii Fit as a form of exercise alongside other forms of physical exertion, plus a proper diet.

Apparently, it all started when Vinnk realized that his work clothes no longer fit. He then decided to take action, outlining his strategy as follows:

  • Goal: to see how much weight he can lose before his wedding on March 29
  • Process: several different exercises on Wii Fit everyday for 30 minutes to an hour
  • Diet: three healthy meals a day with one or two snacks in between
  • Additional Exercise: one hour of cycling everyday
  • Recording: notes on which Wii Fit exercises done per day, including any progress made

Vinnk also noted his starting status: standing at 176 cm and weighing 80 kgs for a BMI at 25.73. In any case, Vinnk said that he would report his status again after one week has elapsed from the start of the experiment, so wish him luck!
