Virtua Tennis 3 for Xbox 360 and PS3 Sweaty Trailer

virtua tennis 3The Virtua Tennis franchise, which topped the chart in 2000 and again in 2001 through its sequel, bounces back from the ashes of the Dreamcast and will play on Xbox 360 and PS3 courts in Spring 2007.

In its pre-E3 2006 hype Sega promised Virtua Tennis 3 would take full advantage of the two next-gen consoles’ power allowing gamers to experience new levels of realism never thought possible on a home system. Armed with enhanced photo-realistic graphics and advanced player animations, the players were designed to perfectly match the behavior and mannerisms of individual professional athletes. Too bad John Mac didn’t make the cast cut.

The E3 demo certainly delivered. Eyewitness accounts described the game as having crisp hi-def visuals with and exceptional fluidity making it more realistic Top Spin 2. Details included veins clearly visible on the players’ arms and  neck. Faces made more human than animated with self-loathing disgust at losing a point and in-your- face expressions at bagging one.
