Virtual Identity’s The Black Corsair details

Virtual Identity's The Black Corsair screenshot - Image 1The game The Black Corsair by Virtual Identity for the PSP was deeply inspired by the book of the same name. The book was written back in 1898 by Italian novelist Emilio Salgari. The game’s plot is filled with many twists and turns like the book, with the protagonist Eric Blackrock adventuring to free his brothers from the evil Wan Gould. Our hero will find himself adventuring through different cities such as London, Genoa, and Maracaibo.

The developers have promised a great deal of historical accuracy in their depictions of the cities with famous buildings like the old St. Paul and the English Royal Court. In addition to this they have said that there will be over 100 NPCs to interact with, over 40 minutes of cutscenes, and over 80 hours of gameplay.

So how will it play? Branded as an action game, it will have Eric Blackrock along with the rest of his crew, Honorata, Han Stiller, and Charmaux, fighting through enemies to reach the boss. It reminds us of Fighting Force, only with pirates. Some of the stages will be crazy, having “more than 100 enemies at once, to fight with our four heroes and a powerful allied crew” as mentioned on their official website.

We are all hoping for The Black Corsair to come through with its promises. If they do, then we may be looking at one of the best games when it comes out.
