Warhammer Online Beta Update: public quests, PvP, Items, Cities

Warhammer Online Beta Update: public quests, PvP, Items, Cities - Image 1On EA Mythic‘s official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning website, Community Manager James Nichols posted a Beta Update which gives MMORPG fans an idea of what the developers have been up to since the beta testing was temporarily closed last October 10. The developers have also dropped a few hints about what they plan on implementing when the Beta re-opens in December.

The Public Quest team is currently in the process of balancing both the Influence and XP gains from the different missions. They are also planning to revamp the loot players get from the different public quests. The RvR team on the other hand have just changed the PvP flagging system. Guards in the different chapter houses can now flag characters who attack them. In addition to this, players have also been given the ability to flag themselves for PvP.

The Item Team has given word that they are still in the process of fixing up Player trading. They have already begun to classify items as Bind on Equip, Bind on Pick Up, and non-binding items.  The City team has decided to work on the Inevitable City and Altdorf. They are making changes to both locations in preparation for the implementation of RvR city capture.

Finally, the City team have announced one of the new DPS classes they plan on adding called the Marauders. Perhaps the most distinctive element of these warriors is that one of their arms has mutated into an organic weapon. Players can choose from 3 different mutations which offer different benefits and disadvantages.

EA Mythic’s Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning looks like it might actually live up to the amount of hype its been generating. We’ll have to wait till the first quarter of next year when the game is slated to be released to be able say for certain though.
