handshakeWith the work they did together in Batman: Arkham Asylum, Warner Bros. took their relationship with Rocksteady Studios to the next level. After sealing the deal, Warner Bros. is now the major stockholder of the developer, giving them yet another hand into their gaming push.

Martin Tremblay, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, shares a few words on the deal:

With the successful release of Batman: Arkham Asylum, a franchise that is a key focus for Warner Bros., Rocksteady has proven that they have the expertise to create hit games with mass appeal. We are currently working with Rocksteady on the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum and look forward to bringing the continuation of the franchise to fans worldwide.

The amount they shelled out to acquire the stock was left unrevealed, but Warner Bros. has been stedily buying developers to expand their foothold in the industry. They’re currently the owner of Midway and its intellectual properties, as well as Traveller’s Tales, developer to the Lego games.
