When in Rome… Assassin’s Creed interview

I somehow get the feeling these guys hate me. - Image 1

Seems the crown jewel of Ubisoft‘s efforts into Assassin’s Creed (PS3, Xbox 360, PC, DS), certainly is its crowd dynamic. Technical Director Claude Langlais tells Kikizo that he considers the crowd “our second main character.”

Sure, we know that when you abuse a crowd, a crowd will really fight back – and for lonely-boy Altair on a sneaking mission, that is an unwise tactical move. But the crowd can also be an ally. “You get feedback from the crowd on your actions. So, gradually, throughout the game, you can help citizens and bring them on to your side.” Yeah, it helps to be Robin Hood in these times, alright.

And to further fan those hints that there’s something way too high tech going on behind this game, Langlais says “We’re not going to comment too much about the series, but for this game, about 95 per cent takes place during the Third Crusade.” 95% So, 5% is… Guess Jade won’t be dispatching Altair to seal up a little leak by the name of Kristen.
