Who’s your momma?! Cooking Mama spreads the love

Grind the meat, pound the patties, melt the butter… The Iron Chef gods are pleased! And when they ask you who’s your momma, you better answer with “Jex H.” or “Cooking Mama.” Now we get to see some gameplay vids for this highly anticipated game from Taito.

If there’s one thing we know about party games (e.g. Marty Party 8, WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Rayman Raving Rabbids), it’s that they’re all easy to “pick-up-and-learn.” These games don’t require you to memorize complex controls and neither do they have complicated sub-menus under sub-menus of menus. You just pick up the Wiimote, and then do your stuff.

The mini-games in Cooking Mama are pretty self-explanatory when you watch the three (yes, three!) vids. We don’t speak Japanese, but the on-screen instructions were understandable regardless. All you have to do is beat the other player in finishing the task required, whether it’s cracking a certain number of eggs, grating some bread, or flipping a burger patty successfully.

This game will surely heat things up for the Wii. And among those other titles mentioned above, this deserves to be one of the staple party games in your library.

Where’s the rest of the vids? Get those eggs crackin’ and click the “Full Article” link below!
