Wii Channels menu music, minus the Wii

Not Wii Orchestra. But close. No folks, we’re not talking about Wii Orchestra. Krakken from the Games are Fun website managed to grab most of the menu music from the Wii channels.

For fans of the different Wii Channels, his work also gives you the chance to take them with you wherever you go! Krakken also put them up for download on the GAF website, so if you like the new Wii music, this is the best chance for you to slap them onto a CD or music player for your own personal use.

Krakken notes that the music from the channels aren’t short, looping tunes but are actually full-fledged pieces of music. He’s thinking this might be some nice sort of Kazumi Totaka-styled piece of obscure knowedge, but the fact that Nintendo bothered to put in actual tunes on Wii Channels is definitely a nice touch.

In any case, here’s the list of songs as written by Krakken. It’s missing the nighttime Weather Channel music, but it should be up soon enough. Enjoy!

Song Listing:

  1. Mii Channel – What you hear when you’re watching your Miis walk around.
  2. Shop Channel Title – The short ditty that plays before you actually enter the Shop Channel. It lets you know, “Aw yeah, THAT song is coming up.”
  3. Shop Channel – THAT song. It makes spending money enjoyable.
  4. Photo Channel – Slideshow (Calm) – A nice piano song. It’s 2:44 long, and it doesn’t loop.
  5. Photo Channel – Slideshow (Fun) – As the title suggests, it’s a fun, bouncy ditty.
  6. Photo Channel – Slideshow (Bright) – A very up-tempo track. Parts of it remind me of Super Monkey Ball music.
  7. Photo Channel – Slideshow (Nostalgic) – I guess it’s nostalgic? Piano & strings.
  8. Photo Channel – Slideshow (Beautiful) – This one’s a misnomer; it’s actually an up-tempo jazzy song. Although, I guess you could consider that beautiful. One of my favorites. Gotta love the walking bass.
  9. Photo Channel – Slideshow (Scenic) – Ambient music. The longest by far, since it takes awhile to develop.
  10. Photo Channel – Fun (Doodle) – A slow, jazzy vibes + bass + ride cymbal thing. Brass comes in later.
  11. Photo Channel – Fun (Puzzle) – More mallets! This time, it’s a cute little xylophone melody.
  12. Photo Channel – Message Board – Happy, I guess? Not a whole lot to this one.
  13. Weather Channel – This one’s nice. It’s a cheerful tune featuring pizzicato strings, a flute, and yet more mallets.
  14. Weather Channel – Globe – Ideal globe-viewing music.
  15. Weather Channel – Globe (Location) – A more low-key version of the above song that plays when you click on a location. It doesn’t have the deep strings.
