Wii Devkit Drop

DevI know there were a lot of issues touched on Nintendo’s Corporate Management Policy Briefing, but one thing caught my fancy more. That is when Satoru Iwata revealed that Wii devkits would go for as low as $1,732 dollars!

Iwata said that the gaming company is trying to encourage cautious developers to “materialize their unique ideas” by “proactively approaching them [instead of] waiting for them [to make their games].”

Currently, over 1,500 people from Nintendo are creating first and second-party games. If things go according to plan, there will be just as many third-party developers. That means more Wii ports, Wii games, and Wii exclusives!

“We are eager to support [developers] so that they make games for Nintendo,” quipped Shigeru Miyamoto. Let’s get developing!
