Wii gamer going ga-ga over component cables

Wii Component cablesIf you’ve noticed, we’ve been milking, whoopsie, following the developments about the Wii’s Component cables. We’ve run lots of articles about it – there was that component/composite cable comparison, then there’s that mini-FAQ of sorts about the Wii Component Video Cable. And those are just some of our reports.

So to add more about that issue, we bring you this tidbit. A man named Lawrence Ingraham has been raving and blogging about the Wii Component cables that he recently received. He shared that he has a not-too-shabby, 42″ Panasonic Plasma TV (720 x 480 pixels), but since the Wii wasn’t blessed with the needed component cables when it was launched, he had to make to with a composite video cable with an S Video adapter at Standard Definition.

The guy, who’s obviously not satisfied, then decided to order the cables online even if they were back-ordered until the end of November. The cables showed up recently and well, he says that everything looks so much better now. He even provided us with pics. Hmm, we’re a bit on the fence about this, so maybe you could help us decide if buying ’em component cables is well worth the US$ 30.
Anyhow, here are some before and after pics, the pics on the left hand side are the images taken using the composite video cable. The right pics are the images from the Wii using its prescribed component cables.
