Wii returns as Amazon’s top seller: Xbox 360 Amazon price cut over

Wii is back as Amazon‘s top seller, ending the Xbox 360’s two day claim on the title after it released a 20GB Xbox SKU for US$ 329.99.

The Xbox 360’s price cut jumped it to fourth place three days ago but when Amazon further cut down down the price by 20 bucks it jumped up to first. The victory is short lived though as the 20 buck price cut also seems to be temporary: the SKU is now back to US$ 349.99. The SKU is now at its lowest in the list since the price cut at 8th place. Halo 3 on the other hand, refuses to suffer as it is still on 2nd place while the Elite drops to 17th place from being at 11th two days ago.

The US$ 50 price cut for the Xbox 360 didn’t seem to have grabbed as much effect as the PS3’s US$ 100 price cut did, which had doubled PS3 sales. The future is still volatile though as the PS3’s 60GB SKU will no longer be in production, leaving the 80GB SKU that’s just an expensive as the original SKU before the price cut. Time will only tell how that would affect the market once the 60GB SKUs are gone.
