Wii Shop Channel to go offline later today… but why?
Have you already downloaded Wave Race 64 or any other Virtual Console title you want for that matter? If you’re planning to get some, you might as well head now to the Wii Shop Channel because according to some reports, the channel is going down for approximately three hours later today.
The heads up came from GoNintendo reader Unknowndude who claimed that a message appeared on the Wii Shop Channel letting users know that it will be down starting at 3:30 p.m. PST. Quite curiously, no reason for the said downtime was given.
One could easily speculate that this is just a normal maintenance schedule. However, please allow us to speculate a little. A couple of days ago, there were rumors that aside from Neo-Geo, another platform will be lending its library of video games to the VC. Is it possible that Neo-Geo games have finally arrived this side of the globe?
Or are we all in for something better and bigger? We can’t say for certain but like we said, purchase whatever you want to purchase now because a downtime is coming.
