Wiican modchip… sounds like a Nintendo trademark

No, this isn’t a Sega-does/Nintendon’t spoof. PsPimP points us to the Dutch-based PsxShop.com, which is offering a new product called the Wiican modchip (yep, the Wii puns continue). Product “not at present on stock,” the site says, but the Wiican offers the following:

  • Supports all version of Wii currently available on the market
  • Enhanced Media compatibility
  • Region free without disc swapping
  • Direct boot of Wii and GC original and backups
  • Supports D2B chipsets
  • Supports multi-disc games for both Wii and Gamecube
  • Stealth mode

What’s probably interesting is that the Wiican’s name almost looks like a trademark Nintendo registered: WiiCan. Now, in the written word, it’s easy enough to differentiate between Wiican and WiiCan, but spoken might be another thing entirely. Yeah, first it’s a modchip, and it sounds like a trademark Nintendo’s trying to register. If you want to find out more, Read link is below.
