WiiCR 3.1.10

WiiCR - Image 1While the Wii’s news channel is already up and running, it just doesn’t beat being able to view your choice popcorn flicks on this Nintendo console. And for that to happen, you might want to check out this latest incarnation of WiiCR, which has just turned 0.3.1.10.

Jacob Jarick and his development team have been pretty keen on keeping this app updated, which allows users to turn their Wii into a media player with video streaming capability. And like we said, the steady updates only makes this homebrew ever more streamlined and stable, as their changelog says:

  • Fixed bug with the mp3 pls generation, now sorted.
  • Sorted mp3 player not loading files with unfriendly characters.
  • Included shoutcast.tpl in icons1 (due to shifting shoutcast to a tpl automatic redirection will not work when you add a new mp3, simply click back then click on the mp3 player icon).

Jacob makes further mention that the team needs testers to help with smoothing out the app’s encoder settings. For the guys downloading this app, that may mean some minor stability issues, which in turn means we also suggest checking out the version 3.1.9.
