Wiifree modchip v1.2

Wii console - Image 1Before we hear the tired “Not another Wii modchip” groans from the guys, hear this news out. Team Wiifree has just released version 1.2 of their Wiifree modchip, and it should be the most affordable chip out in circulation – because this WABCheap mod-based chip (we mean its software coding) is reportedly free, and still carries some of the bare-bones essential features that updated Wii modchips should carry:

  • Run gamecube originals
  • Run Wii originals
  • Run Wii backups
  • Support for D2A and D2B
  • Support for 12F629 and 12F683 chips (the installation for the 12F683 is the same as the 12F629)

While the ever-important D2B support is there, console owners may notice the lack of GC backup games support and Stealth Mode – the latter is available in Wiinja, Cyclowiz.
