For those of us looking forward to some WiiWare games, here’s some special news: the price of microtransactions have just been revealed via this week’s issue of Famitsu. And surprise surprise – it’s pretty affordable, in terms of Wii Point standards. The final price? 500 Wii Points for every microtransaction, half the 1000 Wii Point price of a full game.

This comes directly from developing firm Genki, who will be releasing an add-on pack for its Japanese WiiWare launch puzzler LONPOS. We don’t quite know just when this downloadable content will be released, or just what it will contain, but it’s definite that the price will be in fact 500 Wii Points – certainly not hefty, considering the normal selling price of a 2000 Wii Points card.

Looking at this update, it’s definitely awesome that companies are now going to release downloadable content for their WiiWare titles. Here’s hoping that Nintendo also picks up the pace in terms of extra content. Updates as we get them!
