Wii-Weights prototype exercise accessory for the Wii

Seemingly taking a page from an old ’80s exercise book are the new Wii-Weights, perhaps the first true exercise-related accessory for the Wii (although it can be argued that Nintendo’s latest console is an exercise machine all by itself).

The Wii-Weights look just like any generic brand of strap-on exercise weights, only with a Wii logo slapped on them. It has four pockets, each of which can hold a pound of sand. This whole thing is just a prototype for the time being, but with more and more people getting their Wii on, we’re guessing that it’ll only be a matter of time before these hit the market.

Oh, and if you’re thinking about the whole “sweaty hands plus Wiimote equals…” thing, don’t worry. Aside from the new Wiimote straps from Nintendo, the Wii-Weights also have a built-in contingency device. See that hole near the logo? You can thread the Wiimote strap through there so it doesn’t fly off when you’re “exercising.”
