World of Warcraft Arena Points calculation changes
Changes to Arena Points have been implemented in World of Warcraft and it seems a lot of things will be different. It has been said that these changes were ut into effect to slow down the progression of the teams on the higher spectrum of the ladder.
Judging from the chart posted on Curse Gaming (I love this site, it’s a must read for competitive players), the progression which used to be a bit linear actually peaks off somewhere between 1300 to 1400 points. Some theorized that the reasoning for this is that Blizzard saw the Arena tournament has been going on far longer than it should have and top teams are already fully decked out. Thus, they decided, “lets push the panic button and nerf it.”
The new progression shouldn’t hurt players on the lower half of the ladder much, but it will have adverse effects on those who are on the top of the heap. That said, people shouldn’t worry too much about it since Arena 2 will be starting and everyone will be bumped back to even the playing field.
