World of Warcraft: inventing swear words

Okay, so they’re not as stylish or as classy as Snoop Dogg‘s catchy lingo (or as useful as WoW vocabulary), but these words weren’t supposed to make you look good in front of people. In fact, the words “Grat,” “Chak,” “Blit,” “Flak,” and “Wolsh” were coined up by Oxhorn just to circumvent censorship of swear words in World of Warcraft.

Why even swear? Well, for the current generation of gamers, the most efficient way of relieving themselves from pent-up frustration save for losing another monitor or two is to blurt out ear-bleeding phrases that could flare up an Eskimo – with the right combination.

Now while these words probably aren’t as insulting as they were meant to be, when you do put them all together for “I chakked your blit in the wolsh yesterday,” they become definite sock-peeling, tongue-twister gags! Too bad it wasn’t made in time for the AzerothExposed contest.

So the next time you gotta beat down gold beggars, or release your verbal fury against spamming gold farmers, or have to leave an incompetent guild without having 90% of your sentence bleeped away, you can just try your own WoW swear lingo. Who knows? It might actually catch on!
