World-Turning Portal Details

Portal is drawing everyone’s attention to it. As testing ground for Valve Studio’s newest toy, next-gen gravity gun, Portal is more of a crash course as to how the innovation will be used in the developing Half-life episodes (Xbox360 and PS3).

As we understand it, the functionality of a portal is not just within a map itself but in-between levels as well. A very practical application of this move follows: Shoot an entrance hole beneath a missile turret you can’t pass through and an exit to the wall. Watch it go crashing down to the ground.
