Worms XBLA certified into Xbox Live empire

Worms: CERTIFIED! - Image 1For a long time now, it seemed as if Worms on XBLA would forever be on a “we’re in the final stages of development” status. Everyone knew it was coming, but no one had a clue as to when. Today, though, we finally know that it’s completed its “final stages” cycle.

This morning Team 17’s Martyn “Spadge” Brown reassured Eurogamer of the turn-based strategy game’s certification into the Xbox Live empire.

We’re not sure of the date just yet – it’s only been certified for about six hours! – but I imagine it’ll be a few weeks given the line up. We’ve really embraced the whole digital network stuff; enjoyed bringing Worms to XBLA and also Lemmings for PS3.

He mentioned how fun it was working on the arcade game, and on top of that, how they’re hoping to be able to work on more Downloadable Content“>Downloadable Content“>downloadable content projects in the future.

Taking a look into the official xbox.com website will show you the real deal. The whole package will include tutorials, multiplayer support (four player online or off-), a wide variety of weapons, challenges, and graphical themes to choose from, and the ability to customize your very own team of worms.

Now we can rest easy. All this writer is hoping for though is the ability to customize the audio library. Wouldn’t it be uber cool to have a team of worms with Marcus Fenix, Dom, and the rest of the GoW squad? All in worm-speak, of course.
