WoW Europe forums discussion: Turn Undead for turning demons too?
If you rolled a Paladin in World of Warcraft, then you’re probably familiar with the Turn Undead skill, which allows you to cast fear on the undead. But while it’s definitely a godsend for guys running instances like Stratholme, its use in PvP is extremely limited due to the fact that even the Forsaken race – technically undead – are immune to its effects.
Now, what if Blizzard could expand its effects to not only the undead, but to other races, like say, demons? This was the topic of a thread Berenice started over at the EU forums, which suggested that Turn Undead be given the ability to turn demonic races as well.
Berenice reasoned that this would be sensible because similar undead killer spells for the Pally such as Exorcism and Holy Wrath already targetted both undead and demonics.
Now, in case you’re wondering why this such a big deal, let me put it this way: Wouldn’t it rock to fear an enemy warlock’s demonic summons, much in the same way the lock used to fear you? Yup, that’s one interesting possibility. Blizzard spokesman Tharfor dropped by with this quote:
Ok, cool. I’ll try to find out if there is a reason why Turn Undead does not display the same characteristics as these other two skills which were changed.
Could Berenice be on to something regarding WoW‘s game mechanics, at least for Paladins? It’s too soon to tell, of course, but we’ll let you know if we hear more about this discussion.
