No more Premade characters for PTRs

When was the last time you played a character template in the Public Test Realms (PTRs)?

Premade characters were removed when the PTRs returned around November of last year. Why were they removed? Well, Blizzard switched to the Character Copy function (which went funky, that’s why premades were offered in the first place). For those who missed the stencil template characters, Blizzard guy Drysc explained that premades aren’t necessary since its primary purpose was to get around the character copy function’s technical issues. He adds:

If we do offer premades it’s because their availability is seen as a positive means to get more players testing specific high level content, but that’s not always going to be the case. The PTRs are literally Test Realms, and their purpose does not include trying out new classes, *talent builds, and consequence-free PvP. We intend to keep their purpose focused on testing the content being applied with the patch, and premades will commonly not provide a benefit for that goal.

Also, talent builds that require testing don’t need premades as they could just get players with that character class.
