WoW: Keylogger safety reminder

WoW burning crusade

The keylogging scams have apparently been getting worse over these past few months and weeks because Blizzard is now issuing another reminder for all you World of Warcraft users to be wary of keylogger scams.

Here’s what Nethaera had to say over at the WoW forums:

We would like to remind everyone to please be careful about the links they choose to visit. There have been many suspect links appearing on the forums as of late and we’d like to caution everyone to be wary of them. The latest keylogger that has been appearing with some frequency ends with the following file name: NewBNUpdate2.rar.

Also, it would be wise to check Blizzard’s support site for more information about your account security. And should you feel that your account has been compromised in any way, you might wanna check with WoW‘s account and billing services people too. (You can click on the via link to get to the Account Security and Billing and Account Services sites.)

A quick fix would be to use the biohazard symbol in the upper right corner of the post you’re in doubt of. This can also be used to report a keylogger in a post. We’ll keep you posted for more developments.
