WoW: update on mp5 gear

WoW Mage - Image 1 A couple of months ago, we reported on the bug that affected set bonuses, specifically mp5 (mana per five seconds) not stacking up. Roeman from the World of Warcraft Forums asked for an update on the fix on the Public Test Realm (PTR).

The problem was that items with identical bonuses didn’t stack up. For example, you have two items that provide +6 mp5 but only one bonus applies instead of the proper two (+12). The bonuses cancel each other out instead of stacking up. Blizzard blue Drysc had some new info about the issue. According to him, they are “in the process of fixing” the mp5 issue. The problem is pretty troublesome since each item with the said bonus needs to be checked and altered. He asked players on the PTR to make sure to report bugs:

While we believe we have been able to get to most of the items and combinations, we’re looking for any additional occurrences of this. If you’re still seeing this issue for specific item/gem combinations please provide those specific cases including item/gem names. Please do ensure though that they are tested solely with each other so that there aren’t any mistaken reports.

Drysc also added some instructions for players so they can check if their set bonuses are stacking up: Put all worn items in your bags, equip two items that grant the same mp5 stat, check on the Mana Regen Stat. He pointed out that players should keep track of talents and items that grant spirit since that would alter the results.

Take out your pens and papers the next time you log into the World of Warcraft, boys and girls. Blizzard needs you.
