WoW: Updates for PvP honor system

World of Warcraft PvP system

World of Warcraft‘s Before the Storm update is just in – barring some addon woes – but before you guys resume your daily grind of lootin’, pillagin’ and farmin’, we’re bringing you a quick heads-up on the new stuff you can expect when you log in the game’s PvP. So pack those hit lists up, and pull out those reading glasses for another round of updates:

  • The new honor system will implement a new honor system in place of the old reward system. This means that with each victory you achieve in PvP, the game rewards you with a specific amount of honor points that can be spent like gold or silver for your rewards. You can also accumulate it like normal cash.
  • Aside from honor points, battleground marks of honor gained from participating in Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, and Alterac Valley will also be factored into your item purchases, though honor points will still have more influence in pricing.
  • For those worried about their current battleground rank, reputation and honor: the new updates will no longer use the past ranking system, with the new honor system being the only means of gaining rewards. Current reputations will remain.

These are just some of the bigger heads-ups we thought you guys might wanna hear about before logging on. And if you like the way the new PvP’s system’s turned out, dive right in – unless you’re a Warrior or Shaman
