WoW’s last boss: who will it be?
Although the folks at the official forums of World of Warcraft have spun that question differently – striking a mandatory tone with “should” – the theme of the conversations cycle between “WoW‘s never gonna end!” and “I guess the ultimate baddie would be…”
Now while WoW is just on its first expansion and while there is talk about a second one, some players just wanted to skip right to the end. As Deadhoof of Thunderlord says, “Sooner or later, WoW will end. Yes, it’s a terrible fact, but it will happen.”
Because WoW always had an ultimate baddie hidden somewhere, he believes that the end of the Warcraft story should end with Sargeras the Destroyer, Bronze Titan, champion of the Pantheon and the root of the evil that plagues the Warcraft universe.
Should he die, the Pantheon’s struggle against the demons of the Twisting Nether would cease, Azeroth would be safe from the Burning Legions, and the entire story would end. That’s what people meant when they said he shouldn’t be the “last boss of last bosses” since everything stops there. Well, looking back, that’s kind of the point isn’t it?
So players have instead pointed fingers at Sargeras’ lieutenants: Archimonde and Kil’jaeden. Now we all know Archimonde bagged a big case of the wisp flu and sneezed himself to smithereens. So that would leave only Kil’jaeden. Once he’s gone, we’re still back to Sargeras, so that leaves like four, five years of online play left right? It does have to end sometime.
After all, Blizzard has to make room for World of Starcraft (?!?). Have you got an idea for the last WoW boss? Feel free to make suggestions here.
