Ever since 2004, numerous lawsuits have been filed against licensee stake holder and publisher of WWE Smackdown! vs Raw 2008 (PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, and DS) THQ and toy manufacturer Jakks Pacific by US sports entertainment company World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. (WWE) regarding some serious crimes allegedly committed by the two aforementioned companies. But both THQ and Jakks Pacific had apparently won one battle of the lawsuit wars when a US district court judge dismissed the long-drawn lawsuit filed against them along with other parties involved.

Apparently, WWE filed a lawsuit against THQ and Jakks Pacific back in 2004, accusing the two companies of committing grave crimes such as racketeering, bribery, money-laundering, and many more along with other named defendants, namely; former WWE licensing agent Stanley Shenker & Associates Inc, Bell Licensing, and former WWE senior VP of licensing and merchandising James Bell.

A long court battle between the said sides ensued. But last December 3, a chapter on the long standing court case finally drew to a close when the judge granted THQ and Jakk Pacific’s numerous attempts to dismiss the suit, specifically the ones regarding bribery and racketeering. No concrete reason was stated by the judge as to why the two companies were acquitted of the charges, only that a statement about the case “will be issued in short order.”

Although THQ and Jakks Pacific had already won this battle, the executives up at WWE aren’t giving up just yet. Another on going lawsuit was still in effect against THQ and Jakks Pacific of WWE’s plans to “void their licensing agreement” with THQ.

Keep it here for more updates on the progress of the said lawsuit.
