Xbox 360 gamers who thought they’d be able to enjoy the same high definition quality of the classic remake of Capcom‘s Bionic Commando may have another thing coming to them by the time the game hits the XBLA this Spring.

In a recent interview conducted by 1up.com, Capcom Producer Ben Judd explained how the XBLA version of Bionic Commando: Rearmed may have lower resolution textures across the game due to the XBLA’s 150MB limit on file sizes.

Representatives from Microsoft who were informed of this were honestly surprised by the statement released by Capcom. Microsoft Corporate Vice President of Xbox Live John Schappert mentioned that this wasn’t the first time that Capcom pulled a similar trick on them.

He noted that they already had to raise the XBLA’s file size limit to 150MB due to Capcom’s Street Fighter II [Hyper Fighting]. While Street Fighter II was one of its most popular XBLA games, Microsoft has no plans of further expanding the Xbox Live’s file size limit.

Schappert and his team are on call should Capcom still go over the 150MB limit for the upcoming Bionic Commando: Rearmed title. He explained how they plan to tackle the problem should the need arise. He was quoted having said:

There are 800 different factors [besides memory issues] that factor into development. There’s also prowess of programmers. It’s never cut and dry… If we need to help them program their stuff, we have people on [XNA General Manager] Chris Satchell‘s team that fly around and help our dev teams out when they need it… I’m kind of new, but [Capcom] knows someone’s number at Xbox Live. I’m certainly willing to help them out.
