Are you ready to drop some major bucks for an Xbox 360 faceplate? Say, US$ 200? Someone up on eBay apparently is, after bidding for an “extremely rare” Need for Speed ProStreet faceplate.
Said item was one of the 72 limited edition faceplates given out by Xbox Live some two years ago. The bidder from Queens, N.Y. described it as “extremely rare” collectible, with an original listing of US$ 30. Upon the goading of his colleagues at work, however, he reserved the price up to no less than US$ 60.
By this weekend, however, the bid has been raised to US$ 200 by a high-feedback bidder. Even more surprising is that another guy laid out another bid and topped the previous one by a dollar.
Full bidding drama at its finest — all for a faceplate. Now that’s dedication.
