Xbox 360 Live Vision Camera US Release Reportedly Coming In Two Bundles of Joy

XBox 360 Live CamperaEarlier QJ coverage of the Xbox 360 Live Vision camera announced the free game that came with the peripheral, gave previews of the Live Chat function, and the known release dates in the US, Europe, Japan and elsewhere. Well, the Official Xbox Magazine US edition just put out the word: the US September 19 release is on, and word on the street is that it’ll come in two package deals.

The “standard” bundle, rumored to retail for $39.99, includes the camera, the Live Headset, the free TotemBall game, and the UNO Live Arcade game. The “Gold” version (going for $79.99) packs in all the above, plus an as-yet-to-be-decided Live Arcade game and 200 Microsoft points. The bundles were reported to come with “free” month-long (standard) and year-long (Gold) Live Gold subscriptions, though the CVG source article from which we hooked into this story figured the subscription fees were worked into the pricing of their respective bundles.

Another interesting thing that CVG reported on was that Ubisoft is tooling Rainbow Six: Vegas to add Live Camera hand gesture support (in addition to the already-present voice command support as reported in a previous OXM story). Does this mean we can signal “two tangos around the corner” to our squadmates, order them to move and clear with a flick of the wrist, and (when we feel like it) flash the “universal hand gesture of profane contempt” at the tangos we take down?

That would be interesting to follow up on later.
