James Walker of site Xbox 360 Rally later had the post taken down and retracted the earlier report. In a message posted in their site, he apologized to other blogs who picked the item up and promised that nothing of the sort will ever happen again.

“All those other sites who linked to this, all I can say to you guys is that I am sorry for this whole damn mess,” writes Walker. “I assure you that this will NOT happen again. I have to say, I applaud you guys for being right on top of this.”

Walker also explains in his message that the tip which sparked the buzz came from a fellow named Rob who has been consistently reliable for the past four years.
