XviD4PSP 5.027 RC11 – fixed resolution for iTouch, YV12 codec fixes

Screenshot of Winnydow's XviD4PSP homebrew application for PSP - Image 1Winnydows was especially busy this holiday season as the homebrew developer was in full overdrive by announcing the release of four new builds for the Sony PSP video converter application XviD4PSP v5.027. Suffice to say versions 5.027 RC9 through RC11 have a boatload of new features crammed in, including some resolution fixes, as well as a helpful tip about installing the proper codecs to help encode your videos properly.

If you plan on using this application make sure to use the YV12 decoder found in either the Klite Codec Pack, XviD Codec, or DivX codec. Winnydows recommends using Klite Codec pack for the fastest decoding function and the greatest compatibility with just about any input media file format.

Here’s an important note, though: make sure to uninstall any existing codec packs in your system before installing any new ones. Doing otherwise might seriously harm your system. With that said, here’s the short list of changes that since our last update on this nifty media application:

  • Default resolution for iPod Touch is correct now.
  • Added crash protection and warning for YV12 miss.
