Yoshiki Okamoto: Game Republic Working on New Xbox 360 Game

Game Republic Studio CEO Yoshiki Okamoto has revealed in his blog that his studio is working on an Xbox 360 game. This news would create a lot of buzz as the former Capcom managing director is one of Japan’s most highly tracked developers. His track record includes works on successful franchises such as Street Fighter and Resident Evil.

Okamoto’s teaser: The Xbox 360 project that we’re working on now hasn’t been announced yet, but I think it’s safe to say that this game is well worth looking forward to.

Game Republic is no stranger to the Xbox 360 scene, in fact, the game currently brewing in the studio is the second game for the next-gen console. The studio shipped Every Party for the 360 in December 2005 in Japan.

In the same blog, Okamoto talked about Xbox Japan’s new head Takashi Sensui’s visit to Game Republic. Okamoto describes  Game Republic’s previous projects as “disappointing”, but has indicated that the company is moving towards a new direction, and he wanted Sensui to know about those changes.

The blog did not mention if the new game will make an appearance in next month’s E3, but we’ll keep you posted.
