Apple AirPort Express - Image 1Apple owners were sorely disappointed when they learned that the AirPort Extreme didn’t support Mac OS X10.5 Time Machine. This time however, those who can afford to upgrade won’t need to grumble any longer, now that Apple recently launched the new AirPort Express, the smallest wireless device with a fast 802.11n connection.

The AirPort Express is a small and compact gadget that weighs in at only 6.7 ounces, making it one of the smallest base stations that run the fastest wireless standard to date. It also features support for common wireless internet security such as WPA, WPA2, and WEP. The AirPort also has its own built-in firewall for added security.

But that’s not all: the AirPort Express can connect to a home stereo or powered speakers via digital and analog connectors, which can let users stream iTunes music from the computer, to the AirPort base station. Pretty neat, yes?

The AirPort Express will be priced at US$ 99 and is now available through Apple retail stores and authorized resellers.
