Camp out, Canada: PS3/Wii pre-orders coming

EBGames

The last time I remember camping out in a line would be for the sixth book of “Harry Potter,” but when the sun rises over Canada this Monday, October 16, lots of people will surely be out in deck chairs, sleeping bags, and with cans of beer. EBGames finally announced that they will start accepting PS3 and Wii pre-orders on Monday in a first-come-first-serve basis.

They’re warning people that they will only be able to issue a limited number of pre-orders, and only one unit per household. From what’s happened this week, EBGames is expecting to run out of pre-orders in a matter of minutes. They’re also recommending that you phone your local EBGames branch and ask about the availability of the pre-order. Apparently, not all Canadian branches will have it, so you better double check before leaving the house. CA$50 (around US$43) in trade or a CA$200 (US$175) cash/credit reservation deposit is required.

So. If you really want to make sure that you bag yourself a pre-order for either console (or both!), then you’d want to camp out the night before. Maybe even as early as the day before.
