You might want to hold off for a while on your next big console purchase. MCV reports that price cuts for the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles could be announced as early as E3 while the Wii is expected to drop in price by the last quarter of 2010.

The report comes from a “senior global publishing source” who claims that these price cuts will be announced by the end of the year, although an early E3 2010 announcement is also possible.

The source expects Sony to release an entry-level PS3 at around GB£ 200, possibly with a free controller and a 40GB or 60GB HDD.

Microsoft’s supposedly not going the same route, however, and is instead expected to add Natal to the standard 360 SKU. The entry-level 360 bundle is expected to go for around GB£ 130 to GB£ 150, and there’s also talk of a sub-GB£ 100 SKU that doesn’t come with Natal.

Meanwhile, a Nintendo price drop seems predicated on the company’s desire to hold off Microsoft and Sony’s own motion-control systems.
