DS Lite in May or June? EGM Off-the Mark?

In the latest issue of EGM there is an article stating that the DS Lite is getting a May US release – which totally contradicts information we just mentioned regarding a pushed-back June release.

This redesigned model, due in May, will be roughly two-thirds the size (Click on the above image for more).

EGM doesnÂ’t give a reason why the DS Lite will be released next month, but we could speculate that Nintendo is coupling it with the New Mario release.  Just seems a little odd that the folks over in Japan still can’t seem to jump in line quick enough to score a unit, with demand being so high; find it strangely familiar that that they are going to have units available next month for a possible US demand as well as everyone in Japan that can’t seem to get there hands on one.  That is, unless shortages have been due to the recent idea of creating a demand through stockpiling and holding back on a couple thousand units.
