After winning the hearts of dance music lovers at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest back in Istanbul, Ukrainian pianist, composer and singer Ruslana was announced to voice cast in Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto IV (for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3). The announcement made at the official Eurovision web site today also highlighted that her songs would also feature as soundtracks in the euphoria-powered game.

As the writer and producer of her own local triple-platinum album, “Wild Dances”, Ruslana will be heading to New York City for the sound recording phase of the game. The announcement indicated that her voice would be used for a certain character in the game, which at press time is kept confidential.

And while it was indicated that songs from her previous albums and new album would be incorporated to the soundtrack, there were none enumerated in particular. It’s not a favorite past-time of Rockstar Games to publicize voice talents to be used in their Grand Theft Auto titles, so this might come as a surprise to you as it did to us.
