Opoona: Gameplay screenshots

Opoona - Image 1

For the guys waiting for more details regarding Koei‘s upcoming Opoona Role-Playing Game (RPG) game, we bring early gameplay screenshots which should provide glimpses of how this game’s combat system and travel fields will look once it lands on the Nintendo Wii. Not much else can be said at this point, unfortunately, except that the game visuals are going the way of simple cell-shaded textures – this definitely adds to Opoona‘s cartoony feel.

The game’s “Active Bombom” combat system, as mentioned before, will make use of the Nunchuk’s motion-sensitivity to allow players to throw and direct projectile attacks at their enemies – the attack and targetting controls can be seen in some of the shots below.

As a point of clarification for the more easily excited Wii owners, “throw” is implied as a simple flick of the Nunchuck – try to remember this in light of the Nunchuk’s absence of a wrist strap (we recommend helmets and mouthguards). Enjoy this batch of screenshots, and wait up for any further Opoona updates.
