Sony Confirms Several New PSP Features And General Release Dates

Sony Executive Phil Harisson revealed a number of release dates for upcoming additions to the Playstation Portable during his keynote address at the GDC. He confirmed that RSS feeds will be available for the device during the next automatic update while release date for the patch expected to arrive in the coming weeks. Also mentioned were the forthcoming PSP camera, Eye Toy peripheral, and GPS system.

The icamera accessory will arrive during the Fall of 2006 . The GPS functionality comes later during the Winter of 2007. Sony stated they will highlight both Eye Toy and GPS functionality in the PSP hoping to attract more users through its unprecedented level of features. The online play for the portable console will be available sometime during the summer months along with cipated release of Loco Roco for the system.
