Turn Stars to Wii points?

Something from the European rumor mill: Nintendo is going to set a conversion rate of 4:1 for Star points to Wii points according to German mag, N-Zone.

The said conversion of rate is still a rumor but it already spawned a debate whether it’s fair or not. According to Mike Jackson of CVG, you’ll have to register around 32 games to get 2000 Wii points. With that, players would spend around GDP £ 1280 (that’s more than US$ 2,500) to get the 2000 “free” Wii points.

Some say that Nintendo is just taking advantage of the Wii and DS’ success, while others argue that it’s still free. Others complain that Japan gets the cool stuff and European Stars Points Catalogue is a far cry. Let’s hope Nintendo has grander plans for us in the future.
