ValuSoft resurrects NHRA franchise with Countdown to the Championship

THQ video development division ValuSoft announced today the new installment to the NHRA franchise – NHRA Drag Racing: Countdown to the Championship. The title will be released on the PlayStation Portable and on PlayStation 2 (PS2).

The first NHRA game, NHRA Championship Drag Racing, came out back in 2005 on the PS2. According to ValuSoft, Countdown to the Championship will really be endeared to fans of the previous title as well as new ones because of the many improvements that has been added. Here’s a quick rundown of the features:

  • Most detailed drag racing experience to date with tires that grow, chassis that shake, and a wider field of view,
  • An all new quick tune functionality allowing players to test their tuning skills or consult with their crew chief much faster than ever before.
  • Race as your favorite NHRA drivers including John Force, Greg Anderson, Tony Schumacher and Angelle Sampey in the all new Pro Stock Motorcycle class.
  • Players can create their own driver and compete in a multiple season career on 19 licensed tracks and 23 sponsored events.
  • Wireless multiplayer, car tuning, jet powered vehicles, and fantasy races that allow gamers to race any vehicle class against each other.
