Will Sam and Max’s Adventures Find Its Way to the Wii?

Sam and Max

Ok, you’ve read the comics. You’ve seen the TV series. You’ve regularly checked the Telltale website for updates on the episodic game. And you’ve pre-ordered a Wii so you can play it on Nintendo’s nifty console.

Well yeah, that last statement was pretty far-fetched, but not impossible. In fact, the guys over at Telltale Games, publisher of Sam and Max, think that the crime-busting duo would look good on the Wii. They liked the idea so much that they’ve encouraged everyone to tell Nintendo about it. And guess what? The idea actually worked.

“Holy axe-wielding leprechauns archly riding pint-sized Pamplona bulls!”

In their recent blog entry, they reported that they got a call from Nintendo yesterday afternoon. Although full blown details weren’t disclosed, we’re hoping that Nintendo struck a deal with Telltale to make a Sam and Max game for the Wii.

Hmmm… if this will push through (and we certainly hope it will), then that’s another “bunny” game in the Wii list. Let’s see, there’s Rayman Raving Rabbids, and now this. Do we hear a bunny invasion?

Bunny or not, this is a far cry from Rayman Raving Rabbids. Max (yep, the rabbit) plays the good guy, as he works as a freelance police together with his canine partner, Sam. Oh wait, he’s described as a “hyperkinetic rabbity thing.” So maybe he’s as rabid as those rabbits after all… “Holy suppurating papercuts dipped in spicy lemon extract!”

So will it come out in the Wii or not? For now, we  can only cross our fingers and hope that it will. For more updates on Steve Purcell‘s spunky creation, just stay tuned here at QJ.
