X-Flash v15f for PSP

X-Flash v15

Art has once again updated his firmware modification tool for the PSP today, bringing it to version 15f. X-Flash is a homebrew application that writes to your 1.5 PSP’s on-board flash memory, allowing you to perform all kind of tweaks to your PSP firmware including the ability to apply a custom XMB menu, apply alternate sound effects, and even write a MP3 file to your flash memory!

You do have to be careful with this program as you do run the risk of bricking your PSP if you don’t follow the guidelines, but if you follow Art’s advice and the X-Flash readme your PSP should be fine. So what does the latest release of X-Flash have in store for us – lets find out!

Here’s what Art said about the update the v15f update:

Added a prompt to auto install Dark_AleX custom firmware files if there is no custom firmware installed on the subject PSP unit for the first use of X-Flash.

This is a new release because Art is working on other projects at the moment, putting X-Flash temporarily on hold. This is a temporary final version whilst Art works on bigger and better things so you can still expect more homebrew releases from this coder in the future. Once Art has completed some of his other projects he will probably continue working on X-Flash. For a list of features added in X-Flash v15 please visit our previous coverage.

Art will continue to provide support for X-Flash and is still interested in your thoughts about the program, any suggestions or problems you may have; just report them in the forum release thread.
