6100+ Final Fantasy XI accounts, banninated

We’ve always believed that earning your share (or loot, in this case) is always best when done in a fair manner. Well, the admin of Square Enix‘s MMORPG spin-off Final Fantasy XI thinks so, too, so as a way to keep the game’s economy balanced and to give everyone their due, it has recently decided to ban more than 6100 accounts.

These banned accounts were removed for reasons that vary, from using speed hacks, third-party tools, and cheats, as well as for engaging in Real Money Trading, or other activity related to RMT. With these accounts gone, around 17.2 billion’s worth of in-game gil went with them and have been dropped from circulation.

Tsk tsk. And no, no phoenix down for cheaters.
